The Department of Surgical Oncology has a comprehensive cancer care programme that follows a multi-modality approach to offer the finest evidence based care which not only aims at treatment but also in maintaining quality of life, prevention and rehabilitation of cancer patients. At present, we are offering diagnostic and minimal therapeutic services in our centre. The department is committed in providing optimal healthcare facilities to all cancer patients. It’s co-ordinates with the Department of Medical Oncology for wholesome care. Co-operation with other regional tertiary care hospitals for highly advanced care is promoted. Our aim is to develop a Cancer centre where patients can get the most advanced, ethical yet cost-efficient health care services. A tri-modal system of Cancer care – Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology & Medical Oncology has adopted to ensure least toxic yet most effective treatment for the benefit of the patient. The focus is not only on increasing the years of survival but more and more on over-all improvement in the quality of life. Highest Standards of Quality of Care is the cornerstone in the development of this department.

The Department is headed by Dr Sushen H. Bhatt, a pragmatic surgeon having immense experience in the field.
*We don’t have a Radiation Oncology Department, however we are closely coordinated with regional tertiary health centres for providing our patients with a seamless care.
